Ralph E. Popp

Ralph E. Popp, 89, died Nov. 23, 2011, in Marion.

He was born July 26, 1922, near Durham to Edward and Anna Ehrlich Popp. He was a graduate of Marion High School and attended Kansas State University. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

He married T. Luella Regier on Aug. 19, 1949.

He was the manager of the Mack-Welling Lumber Company, served on the USD 408 Board of Education, was the Marion Assistant Fire Chief, a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Luella; one son, John Popp of Wichita; one daughter, Joanne Loewen of Hillsboro; and two grandchildren.

Visitation with family was Friday at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion. His funeral was Saturday at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Marion. Interment with military rites was in the Marion Cemetery.

Memorial funds have been established with Emmanuel Baptist Church and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm St., Marion, KS, 66861.
