Gov. Sam Brownback has selected Tracy Brunner of Ramona to serve on his agricultural advisory board.
Brunner said no formal meeting with the other four members of the board has been scheduled yet. They will meet from time to time at the request of the governor or Kansas secretary of agriculture Dale Rodman.
“I think our job is to provide input from the country and to advise the Kansas Department of Agriculture in how to better serve Kansas agriculture,” he said.
Brunner oversees a family-owned beef production business. Cow Camp Beef is the umbrella organization for three integrated entities: Cow Camp, Inc., a family farm and feedyard; Cow Camp Ranch LLC, a seedstock production business; and Brunner Cattle Co., a cow-calf operation.
“I’m looking forward to serving on the board,” Brunner said. “I hope to learn a few things and contribute in a small way to the betterment of agriculture in Kansas.”
