Ranchers may apply for grants

Flint Hills ranchers may qualify for grants to help pay for such things as removal of invasive red cedar trees, developing grazing plans, or conducting prescribed burning of native prairie.

The U.S. Natural Resources Conservation Service will accept grant requests through Jan. 19. A second round of requests will be considered through March 23.
