COLUMNS:   Random Thoughts

I guess Kansas State University and the University of Kansas were both scared of the goblins Saturday. When you are scared, you can’t do well.

What about the dad who was trying to help his little daughter by taking an alligator to school for show and tell. It jumped out of his car and crawled through the bushes.

Then the dad who built a flying saucer and sent it flying threw the air, telling the world that his 6-year-old son was aboard getting government help from helicopters in the search. When all the time the boy was hiding in the attic. In fact, all their young sons were in on the plot. He got publicity all right.

The father with the alligator may be in trouble for maintaining an illegal wild animal and the one with the balloon for getting the government to spend money on the search. Dads just can’t win.

I’m writing this Halloween evening and a big black spider just crawled on my writing pad. Ugh. This afternoon a big grasshopper appeared. What is going on? Spooks? Tricks or treats?

Did many children get out? At least the weather cooperated.

Now I wonder if an outhouse appeared in downtown on the center of Main Street. That has been going on for years.

I don’t put treats out anymore. I only put it all out once and the first visitor took it all. I just can’t get up and down every time.
