A man who often appears on TV with strange animals and birds was on the other day. He showed a big bird that only ate his food after he had dipped it in water. He must have invented the chips and dip custom we have now. Jack Hanna also had some big fluffy birds in a basket. They were baby flamingos. Among the baby animals, he had leopards, tigers, and lions. They are so cute you just want to hold them. After seeing a woman on another program that had been mauled by an ape, I plan to stay away from wild animals. Her face had been completely torn away. The doctors are building her a new face.
Don’t you wonder how such birds as flamingos, ostriches, and others can stand on those long skinny legs?
I’m now reading a book that my daughter Mary brought to me. It is about a bunch of missionaries going to Africa. One woman was taking her six children along, they ranged in age from 2 to 14. Her husband was already there.
The time was 1941. Germany was fighting the British. Their boat was fired upon by a German boat and it sank. However, a German man on the boat rescued all the passengers who were on the other boat. The war boat kept dodging through the Atlantic.
It finally put the passengers off on occupied France, then to Spain. The lady with the six children is from Lindsborg. The book is written by one of her daughters. I haven’t finished the book, so don’t know if they ever got to Africa.
