Girls are pretty aggressive these days. Customs have changed. Girls would stand back — really shy — waiting for the man to speak. Have you watched the bachelor show on TV? The girls don’t seem to be very shy now.
What happened to romance? Of course, I’m a long way from things like that. It is too expensive. Are the girls turning down chocolates because they are on a diet?
When I was dating in high school or college, my steady kept me in chocolates. I had a feeling that we were heading to marriage and suggested he spend his money on sterling pieces of cutlery. It was pretty funny. He bought his first piece, a tiny dainty lemon fork. That was probably the least expensive piece he could buy. I do get out my silver once in a while. You shouldn’t put it in the dishwasher. Who wants to stay up after guests leave and polish silver?
The other night I watched a TV show about Elvis Presley. He became very popular and still is with the young people of the ’50s.
