To the editor:

I am writing this letter with regards to the front-page article about the two wrestlers who were arrested.

Why was that front-page news? I understand you are in the business of reporting newsworthy items, but I am sure there were other things you could have used for a front-page article.

For instance, there were seven Marion wrestlers who went to state, four of those seven placed. That is front-page, headline news and would have been a big pride booster for not only the Marion wrestlers, coaches, teachers, and the whole student body, but also for our community. Instead you put that news several pages back, and chose to print on the front page something that put a big black mark on all of us.

I could go on but fear I would be wasting my time, so I’ll close with this: effective immediately, cancel my subscription to the Marion County Record. I no longer wish to support a newspaper that makes choices like you did.
