Rebecca Savage married

Rebecca Savage and Brett Alstatt married April 12 at First Presbyterian Church in Hays in a ceremony officiated by the Rev. Carl Helm.

The bride was escorted by her father, Rex Savage of Florence. Her honor attendants were her sister, Jennifer Allenbach, and friend, Savanna Crow. Kristin Alstatt, sister of the groom, and Ashley Jenson, friend of the bride, were her attendants.

Michael Apel, friend of the groom, was best man. Kyle Younger, Brent Draper, and Cole Befort, all friends of the groom, were the groom’s attendants.

Shawn Staab, Adam Staab, and Kyle Parker, friends of the groom, were ushers. Keedan and Kellen Allenbach, nephews of the bride, were candle lighters. Friend of the bride Abigail Calvert was the flower girl, and Kyran Allenbach, nephew of the bride, was the ringbearer.

Their honeymoon destination was Ireland, and they plan to live in Wichita.

The bride attended Marion High School and Washburn University, as well as Emporia State University for graduate school. She teaches at USD 260 in Derby. Rex and Carolyn Savage of Florence are her parents. Alta Mae Savage of Florence and the late Loyd Savage and Arnold and Bernice Huigens are her grandparents.

The groom attended Hays High School and Kansas State University. He is a trainmaster for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. Wes and Trudy Alstatt of Hays are his parents. Les and Brenda Herrman of Hays, Janet and Gary Stratton of Great Bend, Stan Alstatt of Marquette, and the late Eudora Alstatt are his grandparents.
