A new reporter joined the staff of Hoch Publishing Company Oct. 15.

Adam Stewart came to Marion from Blackfoot, Idaho.

He grew up in Washington and was a 2002 graduate of Washington High School.

He attended Kansas State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in mass communications in 2006.

After college, he worked at the Morning News in Blackfoot.

Stewart has been active in the Boy Scouts, earning an Eagle Scout award. He worked four summers at Camp Hansen.

He is the son of Cliff and Karen Stewart of Washington. He has one brother, John Brown of Paola, and one sister, Emily Stewart of Wichita.

Hoch Publishing Company owns the Marion County Record, Hillsboro Star-Journal, and Peabody Gazette-Bulletin.

Stewart will be a general assignment news reporter and feature writer.
