WEDDING:   Richmond, Thompson

Amber Richmond of Overland Park married Scott Thompson of Overland Park in a double-ring ceremony May 26 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pilsen with Father Kerry Ninemire of St. Mary Queen of the Universe Church of Salina officiating.

Rodney and Diane Richmond of Marion are parents of the bride. Jeff and Mary Thompson of Salina are parents of the groom.

The bride wore an ivory tulle and lace mermaid dress with a strapless bodice, dropped waist, and floor-length ball gown skirt with chapel train. Her flowers were blush pink garden roses. She was given away by her father.

Erin Richmond of Overland Park was the maid of honor. Molly Smith of Marion, Leann Klenda of Durham, Jill Versch of Manhattan, Katie Barnes of Dallas, Texas, Molly Thompson of Salina, and Sally Thompson of Salina were bridesmaids. They wore ivory chiffon strapless gowns with a sweetheart neckline and mushroom pleated crisscross bodice with a split front over-skirt. Flowers were blush pink garden roses.

Joey Thompson of Lawrence was best man. Jake Wittler of Chicago, Ill., Phil Linville of Dallas, John Hassler of Kansas City, Mo., Joey Krsnich of Dallas, Mark Hagan of Omaha, Neb., and John Armstrong of Chicago were groomsmen.

Brylee Smith of Marion and Libby Vishnefske of Salina were flower girls. Gautama Dandu of Salina, Steven Diedrich of St. Louis, Mo., Chad Evenson of New York City, N.Y., and Trey Thompson of Chicago were ushers. Ashley Powell of Chicago, Stephanie Tierhold of Buffalo Grove, Ill., Kristen Watkins of Dallas, and Rebecca Young of Tulsa, Okla., were in charge of the guestbook and gifts. Royce Young of Salina was organist and pianist. Michelle Dolan of Salina was the vocalist. Diana Chase of McPherson played trumpet. The reception was in Marion.

The couple had their honeymoon in Tuscany, Italy. They now make their home in Louisville, Colo.

The bride graduated from Marion High School in 2005. She attended the University of Kansas and graduated with a human biology degree. She completed a doctorate in chiropractic from Cleveland Chiropractic College in August. She is a chiropractor with Well Spine Family in Louisville.

The groom graduated Salina South High School in 2005 and attended the University of Kansas, earning a bachelor’s degree in finance and information systems. He is a financial analyst with Ricoh.
