Rose Ann Hajek

Rose Ann Hajek, 84, died Aug. 8 in Kansas City.

Born Dec. 8, 1925 in Oakview, Colo., the fifth of seven children to Frank and Anna (O’Blak) Paulovich, she was delivered at home by her aunt, Louise Paulovich. Later her family moved to Aguilar, Colo.

On March 18, 1944, she married Lamar Hajek in Durham, N.C. While her husband served overseas, she was a supervisor at Kress and United Dollar stores in Colorado and Kansas. After the war, the couple moved to the family farm in Marion County near Lost Springs. Later the family moved to Beardsley in Rawlins County.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atwood.

Her husband; three brothers, Frank, Don, and Ed; and two sisters, Margie Mannino and Mary Goodrich, preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Zishka of Bonner Springs and Mary Lou Rossi of Overland Park; a brother, Tom of Aguilar; a granddaughter; and two great-granddaughters.

Services were today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Shawnee. Burial followed in Pilsen Cemetery.
