Ruth Ratzlaff

Ruth Ratzlaff, 91, died Dec. 21, 2008, at Newton Medical Center.

Born Oct. 21, 1917, at Goessel, she was the daughter of John and Sara (Schroeder) Janzen.

She married Ernest Pankratz who died in 1945. She then married Jacob Ratzlaff who died in 1976.

She also was preceded in death by a son, Darrel Ratzlaff, two brothers, four sisters, and two granddaughters.

Survivors include a son, Ernest Pankratz Jr. of Peabody; five daughters, Lois Musser of Newton, Diane Voth of rural Newton, Barbara Jost of Hesston, Judy Schroeder of Marion, and June Hiebert of Goessel; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church of Goessel with pastors Linda Ewert and Joel Schroeder officiating.

Burial is at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Cemetery.

Memorial funds have been established with Alexanderwohl Church Children’s Ministries or Asbury Park.
