To the editor:

It is difficult to believe that my address will no longer be Marion, Kan.

I thought it would be my home for life, but I have to go where I can find employment.

The challenge ahead is very exciting, but it is sad circumstances have forced me to leave my hometown.

One of the most disappointing aspects is leaving behind the PRIDE committee that is just beginning such important work.

With the city unable to fund the economic development position, it is vital that the work of PRIDE continues.

So far, surveys have shown that citizens want new business to fill the vacant downtown buildings. It is possible that a grant could provide funding for great improvements to the downtown area.

I would ask people of Marion to support the work of PRIDE to keep the Farm and Art Market going and help with the work of the next project.
