Schneider rules sprints

Marion athletes frequently do well against those from larger schools such as McPherson and El Dorado that are invited to participate in the Marion Relays.

Friday, Jack Schneider was no exception, running the competition into the ground by winning the 100- and 200-meter dashes.

Two Warriors bidding for return trips to the state championship meet, Tyler Palic and Kristen Herzet, claimed individual crowns in discus. Herzet finished second in both javelin and shot put, and Palic placed third in shot put.

Marion boys finished fourth in team scoring with 66.5 points, 33.5 points behind champion McPherson. The girls took fifth with 66.3 points, 33.7 points behind McPherson as well.
