Shirley Bowers was pianist and Sue Clough was song leader for a sing-along July 14. Another sing-along is planned for Sept. 1.
Marlene Andruss brought a decorated cake to celebrate her birthday July 9, and Charles Montgomery brought treats for his birthday July 13.
Sue Clough, just back from a trip to Wyoming, told about seeing a photo and article about the Chase County courthouse in a supplement to a newspaper there. Ivanlee Timm brought in a copy of the same supplement from a Kansas newspaper.
A spur-of-the-moment change allowed shrimp to be added to the menu July 13. How long this bounty will last is uncertain.
Seniors are being encouraged to wear western clothing Friday when Dusty Bina of Lincolnville will bring his horse and cowboy poetry to the center to observe National Day of the Cowboy.
Cheryl Simmons from St. Luke Hospital will present a program July 28.
Senior center staff members report that they were “still waiting for the tomato fairy to arrive.” They suggest that perhaps the oil spill in the Gulf created problems for her, too.

Thursday – Chicken enchiladas, lettuce and tomato, cake.
Friday – Barbecue on bun, baked beans, cantaloupe.
Monday – Salmon patties, noodles romanoff, corn, mixed fruit, whole-wheat rolls.
Tuesday – Ribettes, macaroni and cheese, broccoli, tropical fruit, whole-wheat roll.
July 28 – Hamloaf, scalloped potatoes, sliced tomatoes, fruit crisp, whole-wheat rolls.
