Center getting produce

Garden vegetables are starting to come in for the seniors.

Rowena Olsen celebrated her birthday July 29 at the center with ice cream cups.

Frankie Turner brought two framed paintings she painted to display at the center.

Lanell Hett gave a presentation about the transportation service offered at the senior center. There are two vans available. To arrange out-of-town trips, call Hett at (620) 382-3580. For appointments in Marion, call Janet Bryant (620) 382-2942.

There will be a program after lunch Aug. 18.

For reservations, call (620) 382-2942 by 9 a.m. Each meal includes choice of coffee, iced tea, milk, or water.

Thursday – Spaghetti with meat sauce, cucumbers, blueberry crisp, breadsticks.

Friday – Pizza, pasta salad, summer fruit salad, breadsticks.

Monday – Shrimp, macaroni and cheese, corn, mixed fruit, whole-wheat rolls.

Tuesday – Ribettes, potato wedges, green beans, melon cups, whole-wheat rolls.

Aug. 18 – Roast pork, mashed potatoes and gravy, spinach salad, gelatin salad, whole-wheat rolls.
