Quilters celebrated
Marion Senior Center correspondent
March was National Quilting Month. There was a quilt display at Marion City Library and the senior center has quilters. Recently, a woman from Chapman brought quilts to the center for the quilters to finish. She indicated it was difficult for her to leave the treasured quilts, saying it was like leaving a child on the first day of school.
Jerry Kline called the center while traveling in Texas.
Several residents of Marion Assisted Living came to the center March 28 to eat ham, beans, and cornbread.
The newsletter crew assembled pages March 28. They were Norma Woerz, Darrell and Beulah Weigart, Ivanlee and Mary Ann Timm, Evelyn Jewett, Sue Clough, Jane Makovec, Elsie Reiswig, and Norah Richter.
Diners glanced outdoors recently during lunch and saw eight deer across the street from the center.
Theresa Graham and Janet Bryant attended annual training in Hillsboro, which was provided by Flint Hills North Central Area Agency on Aging.
Virginia Bowers brought treats March 30 to celebrate her return to Marion.
Thelma Blosser provided a program, showing a movie about the Alamo.
Merle Ecklund will play his accordion April 13.
