April Fool’s Day celebrated
Marion Senior Center correspondent
April Fool’s Day was wild at Marion Senior Center with a number of pranks attempted — not all succeeding. Diners were greeted by a life-size doll, seated on a sofa with a letter of introduction in her hand. She was Miss April Fool, wearing two different shoes at the end of quite lumpy legs.
The March report indicated there was an average of 52 people eating at the center.
Shirley Bowers recently brought tulips to the center. There are vases of artificial tulips from Wilma Gilmer as table decorations.
Rita Hynes of Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice spoke April 6. She explained the differences between profit and non-profit hospices.
This year’s theme to recognize volunteers is “Touching Lives, Lifting Spirits.”
Janet Blue of Marion Assisted Living will talk April 20 about proposed housing options.
Free ear care will be available 1 to 4 p.m. April 25.
