Treats shared for holiday
Marion Senior Center correspondent
Shirley Moore shared bunny-shaped marshmallow treats with the seniors. The center served Easter dinner April 20 to more than 60 people and Barbara Abbott made decorated placemats.
Dining room, meal delivery, and meal reservation volunteers were recognized April 14. Their names are displayed at the center.
Sylvia Helmer celebrated her birthday April 15. She brought ice cream cups to share.
Barbara Smith, a member of the area agency board, talked to seniors April 20 about preventive services Medicare provides. Afterward, Janet Blue, director of Marion Assisted Living, presented ideas for other housing options in Marion.
Seniors will observe Poem in Your Pocket day Thursday. Participants are asked to bring a poem to share. Jan Davis of Gallery 101 will give a presentation May 4 at the center.
