Marion Senior Center correspondent

Sissy Zheng from Hongzhou, China was a visitor Nov. 27 at the center. She was staying with Herb and Joyce Jackson, whom she met when they were teaching in China. Zheng is in the United States working on her master’s degree.

Wilma Gilmer has decorated at the center with Santas and miniature Christmas trees on the tables. The Craft Corner has a table of holiday items including a couple of throw pillows.

The center received leftover pie from the community Thanksgiving meal.

Information was given about staying sharp by having a positive attitude and a circle of friends in a social network.

Seniors sang Christmas carols Dec. 2 with Sue Clough leading and Shirley Bowers accompanying on the piano.

Marion High School Singers will perform Dec. 16 at the center.

On Dec. 18, the center will host the county board meeting of senior citizens. Diane Euler, field representative from the Area Agency on Aging, will share her vocal talent.
