Marion Senior Center correspondent
The center had a mini-patriotic program June 2. Shirley Bowers played patriotic music on the piano. Seniors recited the Pledge of Allegiance and sang the national anthem. They participated in an Independence Day quiz, and a selection from the Upper Room devotional, “Fireworks.” Seniors also celebrated Virginia Bowers’ birthday.
Retired hospital personnel ate with seniors on July 8. Ivanlee Timm brought a framed jigsaw puzzle to put on an easel.
Following lunch, Andrea Taylor and Jo Olson of the Eighth Judicial District Community Corrections staff gave a presentation.
The center will celebrate National Day of the Cowboy on July 29. Everyone is invited to come in western wear and share cowboy poetry.
