Centers request $6,500
The board of directors of Senior Citizens of Marion County Inc. voted June 15 to request $6,500 in the 2013 county budget.
Burns Senior Center reported on a trip to a Wichita synagogue.
Durham patrons brought pictures of their family, with others guessing who was who.
Hillsboro had programs on gardening tips and a cowboy poet; the center also had bingo, and patrons brought pictures of their fathers June 15.
The Lincolnville center had games and a weekly Bible study.
Marion’s programs included piano music, vocal music, and Howard and Beth Collett speaking about their grandson’s graduation from West Point.
Peabody had its holiday brunch, and Ted Hayes of the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame spoke about athletes from Kansas. Peabody continues to have bingo and Wii bowling.
Tampa had a program about the history of Lyon County.
The next board meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Lincolnville.
