Senior citizens to hold annual meeting

Senior Citizens of Marion County Inc. will hold their 51st annual meeting Oct. 20 at Marion Senior Center. Registration begins at 11 a.m. There will be a noon meal followed by the program at 12:45 p.m.

This year the SCMC board will be honoring 10 older workers in the county.

Arlen Busenitz, Pastor of Burns First Mennonite church, speaker, and author will give a presentation entitled “How I Paid for College Selling Rocks.” A free-will offering will be taken for the 2012 Marion County High School Scholarship at the meeting. This will be awarded in the spring of 2012 to a county high school senior pursing a degree in a related field of aging.

To register for the event, contact the Marion County Department on Aging or one of the senior centers. Registration is $5 per person and must be made by Oct.14.
