Senior Citizens of Marion County Inc. will hold their 51st annual meeting Oct. 20 at Marion Senior Center. Registration begins at 11 a.m. There will be a noon meal followed by the program at 12:45 p.m.
This year the SCMC board will be honoring 10 older workers in the county.
Arlen Busenitz, Pastor of Burns First Mennonite church, speaker, and author will give a presentation entitled “How I Paid for College Selling Rocks.” A free-will offering will be taken for the 2012 Marion County High School Scholarship at the meeting. This will be awarded in the spring of 2012 to a county high school senior pursing a degree in a related field of aging.
To register for the event, contact the Marion County Department on Aging or one of the senior centers. Registration is $5 per person and must be made by Oct.14.
