MARION SENIOR CENTER:   Seniors observe National Volunteer Week

Marion Senior Center correspondent

Patrons of Marion Senior Center have been observing National Volunteer Week for several days. A party was held April 8 to honor the newsletter crew and drivers for out of town appointments. Dining room help, Meals on Wheels drivers, and ladies who run the reservation table were honored April 9. Each volunteer wore a pin saying, “Volunteers make a world of difference.”

Janey Bryant’s birthday was celebrated April 7 with decorated cookies made by Jan Wiens.

Pauline Edmunds of Oklahoma called to say “hello.”

Sue Clough is displaying examples of her artwork. The center reminds other patrons are welcome to also display items.

On April 23 therapist Sheryl Simmons will talk about proper use of canes and other coping devices.

Poem in Your Pocket Day is April 18.

Bring a Friend Day is April 22.
