Shaina Makovec of Ramona and Cody Schafer of Tampa announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

Gail and Marissa Makovec of Ramona, Gene Schafer of Durham, and Vaughn and Dee Juhnke of Moundridge are their parents.

The bride elect is a 2005 graduate of Centre High School and a 2009 graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in Apparel and Textile Marketing and a minor in business. She is currently working for a company in Texas.

Her fiancé is a 2000 graduate of Moundridge High School and a 2005 graduate of Tabor College with a degree in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation. He is a self-employed farmer and rancher.
