Sharon Grosse

Graveside services for Sharon Kay Shepherd Grosse, 79, who died March 22, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Baker Funeral Home, Peabody.

Born Jan. 4, 1941, in Newton to William Woodrow Shepherd and Kathryn Marie Shepherd, she graduated from Newton High School in 1959.

She was a secretary for Axtell Clinic, Peabody School District, Baker Furniture and Carpet, and Friendly Acres Nursing Home. She retired in 1996.

Sharon married Jack LaVern Grosse in Newton on July 21, 1962. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter Julia of Peabody; sisters, Ellen Richards of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Lucretia Peterson of Wichita; brothers Stan Shepherd of Kansas City, Missouri, and Steve Shepherd of Wichita, and two granddaughters.

Her son, Kenneth; granddaughter, Bailey Rae Ensminger; and brother, Merlin Shepherd preceded her in death.

A memorial has been established with St. Luke Living Center.
