Thefts at an oil field in the 2400 block of Pawnee Road, Marion, were reported to have occurred during a period of a month beginning Nov. 1. A Stihl weed eater, ridged pipe threader, and miscellaneous tools were taken, valued at $1,175. The items were removed from an unlocked storage shed located on the premises.
A sheriff’s deputy observed the driver of a vehicle cross the centerline twice at 6:25 p.m. Dec. 18 on U.S. 56 near Hillsboro, nearly hitting oncoming traffic. The vehicle was stopped and marijuana was found in the vehicle.
Someone broke into a residence in the 2200 block of U.S. 50, Florence, Dec. 23 while the resident was out of town. A window was broken, valued at $150, and a bottle of whiskey was taken.
Between 1:15 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. Dec. 31, someone sturck a mailbox in the 2100 block of 170th Road, Marion, damaging the box and post, valued at $50. A Marion County road sign was also broken in the incident.
At 1:15 a.m. Jan. 1, an individual was arrested for suspicion of a minor consuming alcohol violation. The individual argued and fought with officers, leading to an arrest for suspicion of obstruction.
