State Farm Insurance in Marion is collaborating with Community Christmas to collect blankets and socks for children for the holiday season.

“We just wanted to do something to help the community,” State Farm agent Becky Walsh said.

“We always plan to help 60 families. We like to try to give every child a blanket and some socks,” Community Christmas coordinator Margo Yates said.

Community Christmas provides families in the Marion-Florence and Centre school districts with holiday packages including essential needs as well as toys.

“We appreciate the help,” Yates said.

Childrens socks and blankets may be dropped off at the State Farm Insurance office, 822 E. Main St. The drive will continue throughout November.
