Last week’s news

Another week of rainy weather has affected our activities. We had a cook out scheduled but because of the weather we had to “cook out” indoors. We enjoyed hamburgers, potato salad, and fresh watermelon.

We also had a lot of visitors this week. A local Girl Scouts troop was working on a badge and came to visit with our residents about how life was different when they were growing up. The girls visited with residents about electricity, jobs they had, and games they played. Everyone then went outdoors to watch the scouts play hopscotch.

Mrs. Becker’s Marion Elementary School fifth-grade class came and celebrated their Easter party Thursday with our residents. They brought snacks and played an Easter game where they had to take each other’s “cotton tails.” The one with the most “tails” at the end of the game was the winner.

Marion Christian Church brought a youth group Sunday and provided us with a special Easter service.
