Marion County readers will be in good hands as we continue to search for an editor and manager for your favorite local newspapers.
For now, copy editor / page designer Amanda Ayers, whose family is planning to relocate to another community later this year, has agreed to move temporarily to full-time status as our interim news editor.
Amanda has been editing stories and designing pages here for the past two years in addition to writing her popular column, “The Seeds of Something Fine.” Although much of her work has been behind the scenes, she has played a crucial role in helping develop the award-winning news coverage you have come to rely on each week.
Circulation manager Jean Stuchlik, a familiar and friendly face to anyone who has visited our offices in the past two or three decades, will take on additional responsibilities as interim business manager. The paper long has relied on her good sense and experience. Now it is officially doing so.
The rest of our great staff members will continue doing pretty much what they have been doing so well — keeping you informed and engaged with well-researched and interestingly told stories you simply can’t find anywhere else and helping you market your business with effectively designed messages at by far the lowest cost in the county.
Meanwhile, we continue to look both locally and nationwide for candidates who not only are up to the task journalistically but also will be solid additions to our community.
