A record number of men attend undergrad studies

Tabor College’s overall enrollment for the fall semester has increased by four percent from last fall and tied a record set in the fall of 2011 of 231 new students.

“Our growth is the result of the hard work of many people and the favor of God smiling down on Tabor,” college president Jules Glanzer said.

This year 766 students are enrolled, compared to last year’s 736. The number includes 594 undergrads at Hillsboro, 141 at Wichita campuses, and 31 graduate students in Wichita.

At Hillsboro’s campus, 21 students are USD 410 graduates.

A record number of men also are attending undergraduate studies. There are 345 in Hillsboro and 23 in Wichita or online.

Tabor’s total full time equivalency, which is a calculation that converts part-time hours to full-time students, is 675.

“It is exciting to see our recruiting strategies bear fruit,” vice president of enrollment management Rusty Allen said. “We count it a privilege to help bring students to Tabor College because of the decidedly Christian experience we are confident they will find.”

One year ago, at the Tabor campus in Wichita only 11 students enrolled in graduate programs. This fall it increased to 31 marking highest enrollment numbers in the program’s history.

Vice president of Wichita programs Brett Andrews cited online enrollment for online programs as a boon to enrollment overall because they add more flexibility to course delivery.
