Jerry and Jeanne Rziha announced the births of Raphael Tobias and Mariana Teresa Aita on Dec. 30 to Emilio and Janie Aita of Chippewa Falls, Wisc. Raphael weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces and Mariana weighed 6 pounds. Their big brothers, Antonio, 4, and Sebastian, 2, welcomed them home. Anthony and Mary Aita of St. Louis, Mo., and Bonnie Haslouer of Abilene are great-grandmothers of the twins.
Donald and Carolyn Srajer of Omaha arrived Jan. 5 and stayed until Friday with his mother, Tillie Hein. They all were supper guests Jan. 5 of Jim and Kris Srajer, Grant, and Cole. Donald and Carolyn left Friday for Arizona, where they will spend some time with friends before flying to Australia.
The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League met Jan. 5 in the church basement. The Rev. Clark Davis led the topic with devotions led by Joyce Medley. Phyllis Mueller was the host. The group planned projects for the coming year. Others in attendance were Kathy Davis, Becky Davis, Betty Mueller, Leona Kleiber, Adeline Bernhardt, Cindy Bentz, and Edna Backhus.
Many attended the monthly game night Jan. 2 at the senior center.
Irma Benda visited Frank and Anna Mae Stika on Jan. 5.
Don Frick, John, and Noah visited Tom and Dee Duggan on Jan. 2.
Ryan Spohn, Adam, and Lauren stayed overnight Jan. 1 and visited Jan. 2 with his parents, Gary and Carole Spohn. They also visited his grandmother, Georgia Spohn.
Tom and Dee Duggan attended the funeral of Maurice Lorson at Elmo on Jan. 3.
Lynn and Peggy Kleiber of Salina were dinner guests New Year’s Day of Leona Kleiber. Lynn took down outdoor Christmas decorations for his mother. Lynn and Peggy also visited Dale and Andrea Klenda, Eli, and Evan in Pilsen.
Those gathering at the home of Frank and Anna Mae Stika for a carryout supper Jan. 1 were Tom and Lori Moldenhauer, Nikki Stenzel, Mark Gilford, Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu and Anna, Ellie Miller, and Tien Antoczyk.
Deb Hall and Kaylee of Herington and Tom and Dee Duggan ate supper out Jan. 1.
Tom and Dee Duggan attended a surprise birthday party for Carla Hajek on New Year’s Eve.
Glenn Kerbs stayed overnight Jan. 1 with his mother, Lucille Kerbs. Joining them Jan. 2 for an after-Christmas celebration were Clayton and Leah Kerbs; Eloise Kerbs; Tim and Marchelle Kerbs; Molly Kerbs; Raymond Deiser; April Kerbs; Mark Reidy, Cierra, and Josh; Doug and Connie Thompson and Taylor; Jeremy and Allison Sluder; Russ and Julie Kerbs and Rustyn; Brianna Alvarez; and Jesse and Ashton Smith and Sydney.
