Francis and Mary Jirak have a new grandson, David Patrick Gear, born Jan. 26 to Travis and Maria Gear of Wichita. He weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces, and was welcomed home by sisters Felicity, 4, and Bridget, 2.
Jeanne Rziha returned home Jan. 23 after spending two weeks with Emilio and Janie Aita, Antonio, Sebastian, Raphael, and Marianna in Chippewa Falls, Wisc. She helped to care for the children while Janie was recuperating from the birth of twins. Jeanne also visited Jim and Diana Herron, Andrew, Peter, Maria, John, and Michael.
Anna Mae Stika attended the Centre basketball game Jan. 24 and watched her granddaughter, Anna Weber, play.
Tom and Dee Duggan went to Herington Jan. 25 to visit Everett and Rhea Kolling and play cards at Hilltop Community Center.
Dinner guests of Paul and Edna Backhus on Jan. 23 were Mike and Jennifer Jay of Hillsboro, Bev and Tom Reid of Marion, Brad Backhus, Jason Backhus, and Alisha Barney. They celebrated Mike’s birthday.
Jane Vajnar visited Georgia Spohn on Jan. 25.
Julie Rziha was notified that she was on the dean’s list for the fall semester at Benedictine College in Atchison.
Tom and Dee Duggan met Deb Hall and Kaylee and Abby Jones of Herington for supper out Jan. 21 in Lost Springs.
Lucille Kerbs went to Abilene on Jan. 22 and ate dinner out with Connie Thompson and Taylor and Jeremy and Allison Sluder.
Tom and Bev Reid of Marion and Paul and Edna Backhus went to a basketball game Jan. 21 at Remington to watch Sarah Lewis play on the Wichita Trinity Christian School team.
Adeline Bernhardt and Jane Vajnar accompanied Tom and Dee Duggan to the Senior Citizens of Marion County board meeting Jan. 21 in Hillsboro.
