Reece Berens presented a program July 12 for Sunflower Senior Citizens at the Tampa senior center. He had placed first in his age group at 4-H Club Day with a table setting and menu presentation with a Kansas City Royals theme. His sister, Addie, placed second in her age group, with an exhibit of creative uses for duct tape. Reece presented Addie’s table as well since she was unable to attend. The pair qualified for regional competition. Others in attendance were Raymond and Janet Bielefeld, Tom and Dee Duggan, Betty Mueller, Adeline Bernhardt, Leona Kleiber, Mary Clemmer, Shirley Zaideman, and Jane Vajnar.

Cecilia Rziha stayed a few days with her parents, Jerry and Jeanne Rziha before moving to Oklahoma City, where she will teach this fall.

Connie Thompson and Allison Sluder of Abilene and Lucille Kerbs went to Salina for appointments July 12. They returned to Abilene where Taylor Thompson joined them for dinner out.

Several Tampa residents recently participated in the Tri-County Fair in Herington. Alex Hajek took first in bull riding, staying on for eight seconds and winning a cash prize. Kevin Mueller placed in the demolition derby. Reece Berens was reserve champion in foods with a coffee cake.

Linda Ihde, Mary Clemmer, Edna Mueller, Tillie Hein, and Adeline Bernhardt attended fun night July 10 at Ramona.

Dinner guests July 10 of Russ and Julie Kerbs were Jesse and Ashton Smith and Sydney and Lucille Kerbs. Rustyn was attending a function at Tabor College, where he will enroll this fall.

Everett and Rhea Kolling of Herington, Joyce Cox and Dixie Kracke of Abilene, and Tom and Dee Duggan attended the production of “Daddy’s dying. Who’s go the will?” July 10 at Great Plains Theater in Abilene.

Wayne Rziha of Tulsa, Okla., stayed July 4 and 5 with Jerry and Jeanne Rziha. Cecilia Marie, Anthony and Daniel stayed with their grandparents until their father returned July 10 for them.

Glenn Kerbs of Dodge City was a supper and overnight guest July 7 of his mother, Lucille Kerbs. Rustyn Kerbs was also an evening visitor. Glenn went to Topeka the next day.

Allie Stuchlik played T-ball and her brother, Tanner, played coach-pitch ball July 6 at Lincolnville. Relatives in their cheering section included Candee Thode of Wichita, Daniel and Melissa Stuchlik, Terry and Cindy Vinduska, Monte and Sarah Stuchlik, Ross and Megan Stuchlik, and Leona Kleiber.

Anna Weber and Brianna Svoboda were among those who recently attended Anna Mae Stika’s birthday party.
