Leona Kleiber and Adeline Bernhardt attended services Feb. 3 for Jeannetta Hanschu in Ramona.

Lois Sklenar and Lucille Kerbs had dinner out Feb. 3.

Sunflower Senior Citizens met Feb. 2 at the senior center with Tom and Dee Duggan hosting. After the potluck dinner, Gayla Ratzlaff presented information on women and heart disease. Attendees included Adeline Bernhardt, Jane Vajnar, Leona Kleiber, Mary Clemmer, Gary and Carole Spohn, Georgia Spohn, Tillie Hein, Frank Patton, Berry Mueller, and Lois Sklenar.

The next game night will be March 7.

Donald and Carolyn Srajer of Omaha, Neb., were overnight guests Jan. 28 through 31 of Tillie Hein and Jim and Kris Srajer, Grant, and Cole. On Jan. 28, they attended a basketball game at Centre to watch Grant play. They attended the Kansas Day program Jan. 29 at Centre Elementary School in Lost Springs. Later that evening they attended the Centre Homecoming game with White City. Trevor Troutt and Shelby Deines were crowned king and queen. On Jan. 30, they attended a basketball tournament at Solomon, where Grant played on the Centre team. Donald and Carolyn left early Jan. 31 for Peoria, Ariz., where they will spend the next couple of months.

Tom and Dee Duggan spent Jan. 30 and 31 with Steve and Lisa Knoche-Kite in Hays. The highlight of the weekend was a Soup-R-Bowl, which consisted of a sampling of a variety of soups.

Dinner guests of Russ and Julie Kerbs and Rustyn Jan. 31 were Jesse and Ashton Smith and Sydney of Pilsen and Lucille Kerbs.

Anna Mae Stika, Tom and Lori Moldenhauer, Adeline Bernhardt, and Leona Kleiber attended services Jan. 29 for Norma Weber in Ramona.

Tony Young of Goessel was a Jan. 28 visitor of Lois Sklenar.

Jerry and Jeanne Rziha have received word that their daughter-in-law, Shannon Rziha, who has been treated for a rare and aggressive form of cancer, has been officially declared to be in remission.

Robert Vajnar was a morning visitor Jan. 27 of Ron and Mary Clemmer.

Prairie Pals met Jan. 26 at the home of Michele Berens. Additional hosts were Lori Meyer and Jane Vajnar. Other members present were Laveta Meyer and Jeanne Rziha. Reece and Addie Berens played musical numbers and Vajnar read poetry.

Connie Thompson was a Jan. 26 visitor of her mother, Lucille Kerbs. The pair had dinner out.

Mary Clemmer received news that her nephew, Richie Jaggard of Emporia, died suddenly Jan. 26. He was thought to be recuperating from surgery.

Adeline Bernhardt, Leona Kleiber, and Lucille Kerbs had a morning break Jan. 26.

Jeanne Rziha spent Jan. 21 through 24 with Shannon Rziha, Cecilia, Anthony, and Daniel in Tulsa, Okla., while Wayne Rziha was in Washington D.C. participating in a pro-life demonstration.

Mike and Jennifer Jay and Kelsie Penner of Hillsboro; Tom and Bev Reid of Marion; and Paul and Edna Backhus, Brad Backhus, and Jason Backhus had dinner out Jan. 24 in McPherson. After dinner, they all went to the Jays’ home for cake and ice cream in celebration of Mike’s birthday.

Supper guests of Russ and Julie Kerbs and Rustyn Jan. 24 were Lucille Kerbs and Jesse and Ashton Smith and Sydney.

Leona Kleiber and Adeline Bernhardt attended Sadie Bernhardt’s 98th birthday celebration Jan. 24 at St. Luke Living Center in Marion. Later they visited with residents Martin Hajek and Art Mueller and their visitors Betty Mueller, Joan Hillyer, and Diane Challacomb.

Tom Duggan picked up Kaylee Hall and Calyn Hartman Jan. 22 from their Girl Scout meeting in Lincolnville. The girls were overnight guests of the Duggans, and Tom took them to their basketball game Jan. 23 in Junction City.

Lucille Kerbs and Brianna Alvarez accompanied Russ and Julie Kerbs Jan. 23 to Solomon. They watched Rustyn Kerbs play in a basketball tournament. The Centre team took first. Also in Rustyn’s cheering section were Tim and Marchelle Kerbs of Salina, Doug and Connie Thompson and Taylor of Abilene, and Jesse and Ashton Smith and Sydney of Pilsen. After the game, the group ate out in Abilene.

Annette Sneary of Strong City was a morning visitor Jan. 22 of Adeline Bernhardt.

Frank and Anna Mae Stika and Lori Moldenhauer were visitors of Nikki Stenzel in Manhattan.

Tom and Dee Duggan were morning visitors Jan. 21 of Barbara Askew and Rhea Kolling in Herington. That afternoon they visited Karolyn Schlesener.

Tillie Hein accompanied Jim and Kris Srajer to Grant Srajer’s basketball game Jan. 14 at Centre and Cole Srajer’s game Jan. 16 at Marion.
