Many Tampa residents attended the Tri-County Telephone annual meeting March 16 at Centre High School. Edna Mueller won a television as the grand prize at the event. Iona Dietrich, Mary Jirak, Tom Linder, and Jane Vajnar also won door prizes. Shelby Deines was awarded a $1,000 scholarship.
Margaret Grochosky brought Meaghan, Kyle, Abigail, and Ryan Sutton of Topeka to visit Mary Clemmer March 16.
Cecilia Rziha of Dallas has returned to school after spending spring break with her parents Jerry and Jeanne. Other visitors to Tampa since March 13 were Susie Rziha of Independence; David Rziha of Atchison; and Wayne and Shannon Rziha, Cecilia Marie; Anthony and Daniel of Tulsa.
Lucille Kerbs was a guest of Duane and Shirley Hamm March 16 for dinner at the café.
County Commissioner Dan Holub met with Tampa residents March 15 at the senior center. People had the opportunity to express praise, criticisms, and questions about the various county departments.

Mary Clemmer has received word from her granddaughter, Kathie Sutton of Topeka, that her son Alex was part of the Crest Scholars Bowl team, which took first in February. They are scheduled to compete again April 4. The contest will be televised at 11 a.m. by a public television station in Topeka.
Members of the Red Hat Society went to the Herington Senior Center March 12 for supper and a jam session. Those present included Joyce Cox of Abilene; Ramona Goracke, Anita Hummel, and Betty Schlesener of Hope; Barbara Askew, Rhea Kolling, Rosy Mary Deines, and Helen Sorenson of Herington; and Adeline Bernhardt, Leona Kleiber, and Dee Duggan.
