Services for Bernard Meysing were April 14 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Tampa. He had been a lifelong resident of the area.

Leona Kleiber and Adeline Bernhardt were among those attending the Meysing funeral.

Tom and Dee Duggan attended the Centre-Herington soccer game April 13. Their granddaughter, Kaylee Hall, played on the Herington team.

Georgia Spohn met her cousin, Lenora Graham of Florence, April 12 in Hillsboro. They attended a Learning in Retirement program at Tabor College and ate lunch out in Marion. Verla Dick of Topeka was the presenter of the program, which was a discussion of adjusting to changes in retirement.

Tom and Dee Duggan attended a band concert April 12 for grades five through 12 at Herington. Kaylee Hall plays trumpet in the band.

Leona Kleiber visited Ramona Beisel April 12.

Carl Hubbard of Wellington was a dinner guest April 12 of Adeline Bernhardt.

Sunflower Senior Citizens had their monthly potluck dinner and meeting April 13 at the senior center with Shirley Zaideman as host. Others in attendance were Mary Clemmer, Frank Patton, Tom and Dee Duggan, Adeline Bernhardt, Leona Kleiber, Magdalen Dvorak, and Jane Vajnar. The group planned an outing May 3 to Wichita. They plan to visit the botanical gardens and the All-Indian Center in Wichita and eat dinner out. After the meeting, they played card bingo.

Linda Ihde, Edna Mueller, Tillie Hein, and Adeline Berhnardt attended a fun night April 11 at Ramona Senior Center.

Tom and Dee Duggan ate dinner out April 11 with Helen Sorenson and Rose Deines in Herington. Later, the Duggans visited Everett and Rhea Kolling at their home and called on Pauline Meysing.

A good-sized crowd gathered April 10 at the senior center for movie night. The movie was “Old Dogs” with John Travolta and Robin Williams.

Some Tampa residents attended the Durham Baptist Church morning service April 11 and heard Spirit ‘n’ Celebration, a choir from Hillsboro High School. The services were followed by a potluck dinner.

Tom and Dee Duggan attended the senior citizen potluck and game night April 11 at Ramona.

Adeline Bernhardt and Leona Kleiber ate supper out April 10 and attended a movie at the senior center.

Lois Sklenar was honored by a farewell breakfast April 9 at a café before her move to Hillsboro. Dee Duggan arranged the party. A gift was presented to Lois. Others in attendance were Adeline Bernhardt, Leona Kleiber, Eleanor Herbel, Lucille Kerbs, Betty Mueller, Edna Mueller, Mary Clemmer, Tillie Hein, Iona Dietrich, Jane Vajnar, Janet Bielefeld, Kathy Davis, Shirley Zaideman, Joyce Medley, and Eunice Steiner.

Andrea Kleiber and Elijah of Pilsen and Leona Kleiber ate dinner out and visited April 9 at Leona’s home.

The Rev. Clark Davis, Joyce Medley, Adeline Bernhardt, and Leona Kleiber went to Salem Home in Hillsboro April 8. They took cookies to and visited with residents. Pastor Davis delivered an Easter message.

Lucille Kerbs accompanied Julie Kerbs and Rustyn to Abilene April 7 for Don Piper’s lecture on his book, “90 Minutes in Heaven.” The program included music by Cloverton and the Emmanuelaires. Tim and Marchelle Kerbs of Salina and Doug and Connie Thompson, Allison, and Taylor of Abilene also attended. Doug introduced the speaker and musicians.

Easter dinner guests of Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu and Anna were Frank and Anna Mae Stika and Lori Moldenhauer and Nikki.

Terry and Cindy Vinduska of Marion hosted dinner guests April 11 that included Lynn and Peggy Kleiber and Nick of Salina; Dean and Becky Routh, Melody, Allison, and Danielle of Augusta; Ron and Tammi Vinduska and Christi Vinduska of Topeka; Daniel and Melissa Stuchlik, Tanner, and Allie of Pilsen; and Leona Kleiber. The children hunted eggs in the afternoon followed by desserts.
