Members of Shady Ladies Red Hat Society went to Tall Grass Prairie National Park July 1. They ate dinner out in Cottonwood Falls and toured the renovated courthouse. Those participating were Anita Hummel and Betty Schlesener of Hope; Alice Bell, Phyllis Allen, and Karolyn Schlesener of Herington; Joyce Cox of Abilene; and Ramona Beisel and Dee Duggan.

Lucille Kerbs met Mildred Steinle for lunch June 30 in Hillsboro.

Sunflower Senior Citizens had an outing June 29. They picked up Ruby Vinduska and Bonnie Crandall at their respective nursing homes and took them out for dinner in Newton. Others in the group were Tom and Dee Duggan, Jim and Mary Clemmer, Magdalen Dvorak, Leona Kleiber, Jane Vajnar, Tillie Hein, Shirley Zaideman, Iona Dietrich, and Lucille Bernhardt.

Frank and Anna Mae Stika, Tom and Lori Moldenhauer and Nikki, and Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu, James and Anna ate dinner out June 28 for Anna Mae’s birthday. After dinner, they went to the Stika home for cake and ice cream. Anna Mae also received many cards and birthday greetings by telephone.

Debra Dody of Branson, Mo., visited her grandmother, Tillie Hein, June 28.

Kaylee Hall of Herington was an overnight guest June 26 of her grandparents, Tom and Dee Duggan. Deb Hall and the Duggan’s attended Kaylee’s swim meet the next day in Hillsboro.

A group of women ate dinner out June 26 in Hillsboro included Adeline Bernhardt, Leona Kleiber, Beryl Steiner, Shirley Hamm, Bonnie Crandall, Eleanor Herbel, Dee Duggan, Tillie Hein, Amanda Baxa, and Andrea Klenda and Elijah.

In last week’s news, Lucille Kerbs name was accidentally omitted from the group of neighbors who sought shelter from the storm in Lois Sklenar’s safe room.
