Tom and Dee Duggan, Janet Bielefeld, Shirley Zaideman, Ira Lee Barnard, and Betty Mueller had breakfast together March 15 at the Tampa Café.

Sunflower Senior Citizens met March 13 at Tampa Senior Center for a potluck meal, program, and business meeting. David Mueller presented the program, giving an update on the progress of the Main Street buildings and his plans for them. An outing is planned for March 27 to Pilsen and Marion. Raymond and Janet Bielefeld were hosts. Others present were Lucille Kerbs, Leona Kleiber, Adeline Bernhardt, Leo and Sue Yanda, Shirley Zaideman, Mary Clemmer, Carole Spohn, Tom and Dee Duggan, Betty Mueller, and Kathy Davis.

A number of Tampa people attended the Rosary on March 12 or the funeral March 13 for Don Kraus at Pilsen. Kraus had many friends in the area.

Michael, Joseph, and Julie Rziha of Atchison spent last week with Jerry and Jeanne Rziha.

Georgia Spohn met Lenora Graham and Paulette Zook of Florence on March 9 in Hillsboro. They attended Learning in Retirement at Tabor College and enjoyed dinner out. The Tabor program was by Katie Funk Wiebe, who presented an account of her aunt’s years as a forced laborer in Siberia.

Around 30 people attended a dinner March 8 at the Tampa Café. Thrivent representative Sherry Weber was the speaker.

Many Tampa people attended the state Class 1A Division 1 basketball tournament March 8 in Emporia to watch the Centre High School girls’ team play against Hoxie. Centre lost to the team which became the state champions, but they played well and fought hard.

The Tampa community library was unexpectedly closed two Mondays in a row, but the volunteer responsible plans not to let it happen again.
