Steve and Vickie Jirak are proud grandparents of Vicent Emil Jirak, born April 4 to Seth and Gina Jirak of Atchison. He weighed 8 lbs, 2 ounces and measured 20 inches. His maternal grandparents are Marie and Todd Zeismer. Teresa Tajchman is his great-grandmother.

Sunflower Senior Citizens met April 10 at the Tampa Senior Center. Following a potluck dinner, Robert Carlton, executor director of Homecare and Hospice in Newton, brought a program about “Five Wishes,” a system to implement people’s wishes for medical care if they cannot speak for themselves. Others present were Leo and Sue Yanda, Tom and Dee Duggan, Betty Mueller, Leona Kleiber, Adeline Bernhardt, Shirley Zaideman, Mary Clemmer, Carole Spohn, and Jane Vajnar.

Tom and Dee Duggan had supper with Everett and Rhea Kolling in Herington April 10 evening. Before going to the Kollings, the Duggans took supper to Deb Hall and Kaylee.

Adeline Bernhardt was an April 10 supper guest of Don Witt and Donna Bundy.

Tim Kerbs of Salina came to Tampa Easter Sunday and took his mother Lucille Kerbs to Salina where she joined other family members for dinner at the home of Tim and Marchelle Kerbs. Other guests were Pat and Kennith Pierce of Augusta, Erik Reidy and Mark and April Reidy, Cierra and Josh of Manhattan, Molly Kerbs, Raymond Deiser, Sandy Branda and Kane Hernandez of Salina. In the afternoon, they celebrated Tim’s birthday with cake and ice cream and watched him open presents.

Members of their family brought dinner to Mary and Ron Clemmer Sunday in celebration of Easter and Mary’s birthday. Those present were Nyle and Kathie Sutton, Meaghan, Kyle, Abigail, Ryan and Nyle’s mother Jan Sutton of Topeka, Dale and Sandy Clemmer of Salina, Cassie, Christine and Connor Carter, Don and Staci Clemmer, Shawn and Karin Clemmer, Blayke and Seth of Salina. Afternoon visitors were Leo and Sue Yanda and Don Witt and Donna Bundy. A highlight for Mary was playing catch over at the baseball field and proudly told of her 7-year-old grandson, Seth, throwing a ball from home plate beyond second base. A former Tampa resident, Jonathan Herbel, was involved in Seth’s athletic training as his recent basketball coach.

Art and Betty Mueller’s son, Dale, and his wife, Maria, have been moved to a hospital in Sacramento, Calif., after being injured when they fell 10 feet form a collapsing roof while visiting some ruins in Saudi Arabia. They are expected to be transferred to an assisted living and physical therapy facility,

Easter weekend guests of Jerry and Jeanne Rziha were Wayne Rziha, Cecilia Marie, Anthony and Daniel of Tulsa, Okla., Julie Rziha, Sarah Rykel, Jedd Landtot and Jon and Jeanne Rziha, Michael, Christopher, Joseph, Thomas, Timothy, Charles, Anna and Henry of Atchison, Susie Rziha of Chippewa Falls, Wis., Cecilia Rziha of Oklahoma City, and Jackie Brown of Hays. David and Catarina Rziha, Isabel, Samuel, and Kathrine joined them much of the time and were hosts for Easter dinner at their home. Additional guests of David and Catarina of Easter dinner were Bonnie Haslouer, Gene Arnold, Linda Haslouer and Nancy Rziha. An Easter egg hunt and games were enjoyed in the afternoon.

Family members gathered at the home of Frank and Anna Mae Stika for Easter dinner and supper and for an early celebration of Frank’s and Lori’s birthdays. Guests were Lori Moldenhauer and Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu and Anna. Nikki Stenzel of Manhattan joined them for supper.

Leona Kleiber accompanied Terry and Cindy Vinduska of Marion to Salina Sunday. They met Lynn and Peggy Kleiber and Nick at Ramada Inn for Easter dinner and spent the afternoon at Lynn and Peggy’s home for visiting and refreshments.

Easter weekend guests of Tom and Dee Duggan were Darla Hall of Lee’s Summit, Mo., Adam Hall of Springfield, Mo., and Deb Hall and Kaylee of Herington. They enjoyed an egg hunt.

Kathy and Carl Hubbard of Wellington and Don Witt and Donna Bundy were Easter dinner guests of Adeline Bernhardt.

Easter dinner guests of Paul and Edna Backhus were Tom and Bev Reid of Marion, Mike and Jennifer Jay and Cody of Hillsboro, Don and Ophelia Jacobson and Greg Jacobson of Hope, Brad Backhus, Jason Backhus, Alisha Barney, Rod Mueller and Phyllis Mueller. Additional afternoon visitors were John and Wanda Lewis, Paul, Sarah Luke of Anthony. An Easter egg hunt was enjoyed in the afternoon.

Twenty-nine children registered for the community Easter egg hunt in the park on April 7. Winners of the prize baskets were MacKenzie Goldsby and Henry Rziha for the under 2 age group, Clara Noeth and Kadon Goldsby of the 3- and 4-year-olds, Robert Spohn and Isabel Rziha for the 5- to 7-year-olds and Cameron Spohn and Cailey Barney for the eight and over group.
