Tom and Dee Duggan hosted the Sunflower Senior Citizens at the senior center for their monthly meeting, following dinner at the café. Sheriff Rob Craft presented a program about scam artist protection. Others attending included Leo and Sue Yanda, Mary Clemmer, Carole Spohn, Adeline Bernhardt, Leona Kleiber, Shirley Zaideman, Tillie Hein, Connie McMahon, Eunice Steiner, Kent Becker and Jane Vajnar.

Adeline Bernhardt is the proud great-grandmother of Joy Ann Miller, born May 8 to Josh and Megan Miller of Wichita. Grandparents are Barney and Linda Bernhardt of Wichita.

Cindy Bentz died Monday at her home in Lindsborg. Bentz and her late husband Myron had lived in the Tampa community for many years and reared their family here.

Tim Kerbs of Salina spent Monday with his mother, Lucille Kerbs, and helped her trim hedge and other chores.

Daniel and Melissa Stuchlik, Tanner and Allie, Frances Stuchlik, Monte and Sarah Stuchlik, Terry and Cindy Vinduska, Mike and Candee Thode, Ross and Megan Stuchlik and Leona Kleiber attended the Holy Family Catholic Church First Communion Mass on Sunday at Pilsen. Tanner, son of Daniel and Melissa Stuchlik, was one of five young boys receiving his first holy communion. After mass, the above were dinner guests at Daniel and Melissa’s home. Later, Tanner enjoyed opening his cards and gifts. A decorated cake and ice cream were served in Tanner’s honor.

Sunday dinner guests of Russ and Julie Kerbs were Sydney Smith of Pilsen and Lucille Kerbs. Ashton Smith joined them in the afternoon.

Those attending a family dinner at the home of Paul and Edna Backhus Sunday for a birthday celebration were Mike and Jennifer Jay and Cody of Hillsboro, Bev and Tom Reid of Marion, Brad Backhus, Jason Backhus, and Alisha Barney.

Lynn and Peggy Kleiber of Salina were Saturday afternoon visitors of his mother, Leona Kleiber.

Lucille Kerbs went to Abilene on Saturday and accompanied Connie Thompson and Taylor and Allison Sluder to Topeka. They attended a baby shower for Leah Kerbs at Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church. Many other relatives and friends also attended.
