Sunflower Senior Citizens met Sept. 11 at Tampa Senior Center for a potluck dinner and business meeting. Present were Tom and Dee Duggan, Raymond and Janet Bielefeld, Leo and Sue Yanda, Betty Mueller, Carole Spohn, Mary Clemmer, Shirley Zaideman, Tillie Hein, Adeline Bernhardt, Leona Kleiber, and Jane Vajnar. After the meeting, most of the group played card bingo.

Lucille Kerbs went to Abilene on Sept. 11 and accompanied her daughter, Connie Thompson, to Salina for an appointment. They had dinner in Abilene and visited Allison Sluder and Brooklyn.

Dolores Scott and Bill Remington of Emporia spent Sept. 12 with Tillie Hein, took her to dinner, and showed pictures of their recent vacation through the western United States.

Mike and Jennifer Jay and Cody of Hillsboro, Bev and Tom Reid of Marion, Paul and Edna Backhus, Brad Backhus, Jason Backhus, and Alisha Barney attended the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson on Sept. 9. They were celebrating Mike and Jennifer’s wedding anniversary.

Tom and Dee Duggan visited Darla Hall of Lee’s Summit, Mo., on Sept. 8.

Adeline Bernhardt, Linda Ihde, Tillie Hein, Mary Clemmer, and Don Witt attended gun night on Sept. 9 in Ramona.

Jane Vajnar visited Lucille Kerbs on Sept. 6 and 9.

Bev Reid of Marion, Mary Ann Frantz, and Edna Backhus went to Rose Hill on Sept. 8 for the Memories of Home open house.

Tom and Dee Duggan met Deb Hall and Kaylee of Herington at Hope on Sept. 8 for the festival and supper.

Nikki Stenzel of Manhattan and Lori Moldenhauer visited Frank and Anna Mae Stika on Sept. 8. Lisa Hanschu was a Sept. 7 visitor of the Stikas. All brought gifts for an early celebration of Grandparents’ Day. Anna Weber greeted them over the phone.

Gary and Carole Spohn spent Sept. 7 and 8 in Ottawa for a tractor show.

Tom and Dee Duggan attended a pancake feed Sept. 7 in Herington, where they visited with Rhea Kollin and Deb and Kaylee Hall.

Jane Vajnar attended the open house Sept. 7 at the new Marion County Jail.

Georgia Spohn met Steve and Sheri Spohn on Sept. 7 at Hope for supper.
