Susie Rziha of Lincoln, Neb., and Julie Rziha of Sabetha were Oct. 13 and 14 guests of Jerry and Jeanne Rziha. David and Catarina Rziha, Isobel, Samuel, and Kathrine joined them on Oct. 14 to celebrate Kathrine’s and Susie’s birthdays. Susie made and decorated a cow-themed cake for the occasion.

Tom and Dee Duggan went to Hillsboro on Oct. 17 to help set up for the annual meeting of Marion County Inc. Senior Citizens. They picked up Kaylee Hall and Jordyn Schraeder from school on Oct. 16 and took them out for snacks.

Lucille Kerbs was an Oct. 14 dinner guest of Tim and Marchelle Kerbs of Salina. Molly Kerbs and Ray Deiser were also present.

Nikki Stenzel of Manhattan, Lori Moldenhauer, Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu and Anna, and Frank and Anna Mae Stika attended a Martin Stika family reunion on Oct. 14 at Pilsen. All but one of the descendants were present.

Daniel and Melissa Stuchlik and Tanner of Pilsen were hosts for a barbecue supper and birthday party at their home on Oct. 14 in honor of Allie Stuchlik’s seventh birthday. Allie’s checkerboard cake was made and decorated by her mother, Melissa, and served with ice cream. Guests included Terry and Cindy Vinduska of Marion, Monte and Sarah Stuchlik of Lost Springs, Mike and Candee Thode of Wichita, Ross and Megan Stuchlik of Lincolnville, and Leona Kleiber.

Joyce Cox of Abilene, her daughter Kim Hickes, Everett and Rhea Kolling of Herington, and Tom and Dee Duggan attended the mystery dinner Oct. 13 in Herington to benefit the Herington hospital. Later, Tom attended the Octoberfest celebration at the home of David and Catarina Rziha.

Bev Reid of Marion, Jennifer Jay of Hillsboro, and Edna Backhus attended the Women’s Extravaganza in Wichita on Oct. 13.

Lucille Kerbs attended a volleyball tournament in Abilene on Oct. 13 to watch her granddaughter, Taylor Thompson, play. Others in Taylor’s cheering section included Tim and Marchelle Kerbs and Molly Kerbs of Salina, Doug and Connie Thompson, and Jeremy and Allison Sluder and Brooklyn of Abilene. Taylor’s team took first place.

Joyce Cox, the Kollings, and the Duggans attended a play at the Great Plains Theater in Abilene on Oct. 12.

Autumn Chisholm, Velma Wuthnow, and Jane Vajnar were among those attending the monthly meeting of King’s Daughters on Oct. 11 at the Durham Baptist Church. Eleanor Herbel and Kathy Dirks were hostesses with assistance from Danea Herbel. Anita Schmidt led devotions, Connie Wiens presented a mission study, and Deb Owens led the lesson.
