Tampa Trail Stop announced the winners of their recent baking contest. Winners in the 18-years-old and older division were Jeanne Rziha, pies; Carla Hajek, cookies; and Melissa Stuchlik, cupcakes. In the 18 and younger division, winners were Cole Srajer, cookies, and Shelby Makovec, cupcakes.

Sunflower Senior Citizens met Nov. 13 for dinner at the café followed by dessert and a meeting at the senior center with Gary and Carole Spohn as hosts. The program consisted of “Show and Tell” with members showing many interesting objects and telling fascinating stories. Officers elected for 2013 were Raymond Bielefeld, president; Carole Spohn, vice president; Betty Mueller, secretary; and Dee Duggan, treasurer. Others present included Janet Bielefeld, Leo and Sue Yanda, Adeline Bernhardt, Leon Kleiber, Tillie Hein, Georgia Spohn, Tom Duggan, Mary Clemmer, Shirley Zaideman, Phyllis Mueller, Edna Backhus, and Jane Vajnar.

Leona Kleiber is the proud great-grandmother of Silas Otis Klenda, born Nov. 9 to Dale and Andrea Klenda of Lincolnville. Silas weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces and measured 20.5 inches. He was welcomed by two big brothers, Elijah, 4, and Evan, 2. His other great-grandmothers are Theresa Klenda of Lincolnville and Ruth Weigel of Wichita. Grandparents are Lynn and Peggy Kleiber of Salina and Dennis and Terry Klenda of Pilsen.

A number of Tampa people attended visitation Nov. 12 and the funeral service Nov. 13 for John Hett in Marion.

Jim Srajer and Tillie Hein went to Wichita on Nov. 12.

Melissa Stuchlik visited her grandmother, Leona Kleiber, Monday morning.

Nov. 11 dinner guests of Russ and Julie Kerbs were Rustyn Kerbs of Hillsboro, Jesse and Ashton Smith and Sydney of Pilsen, and Lucille Kerbs.
