The Tampa Trail Stop board of directors hosted an appreciation luncheon April 21 for store volunteers and their families. Those recognized were Gene Barney, Michele Berens, Janet Bielefeld, Phyllis Branson, Rita Brunner, Kathy Davis, Tom and Dee Duggan, Carla Hajek, Amy Hajek, Linda Ihde, Sherry Kohman, Russ and Julie Kerbs, Connie McMahan, David Mueller, Francie Mueller, Kathy Oborny, Amber Peterson, Gary and Carole Spohn, Kris Srajer, Melissa Stuchlik, Monica Svoboda, Danny Williamson, and Leo and Sue Yanda.
The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League met April 17 at St. John Lutheran Church with Edna Backhus as hostess. Joyce Medley had opening and closing devotions and Kathy Davis presented the topic. Others in attendance were Janet Bielefeld, Adeline Bernhardt, Leona Kleiber, and Phyllis Mueller.
Tampa Senior Citizens hosted the monthly meeting of the Marion County Senior Citizens board April 19.
Georgia Spohn met Lenore Graham and Paulette Zook of Florence on April 19 at the Lifelong Learning program at Tabor College in Hillsboro. They had lunch together afterward.
Adeline Bernhardt spent April 19 to 22 at the home of her daughter and husband, Kathy and Carl Hubbard of Wellington.
Lucille Kerbs had dinner out April 20 in Abilene with her daughter, Connie Thompson.
Larry and Peggy Jay of Goessel, Bev Reid of Marion, Paul and Edna Backhus, Brad Backhus, and Alisha Barney gathered at the home of Mike and Jennifer Jay in rural Hillsboro on April 20 to celebrate their son Cody’s fifth birthday. Barney baked and decorated a John Deere cake for the occasion. Paul and Edna hosted a family dinner in Cody’s honor the next day. Some family members also attended the Kids Connection Night of Performing Arts April 18 at the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church to watch Cody perform.
Francis and Rita Steiner and Ron Steiner were April 23 visitors of Tom and Dee Duggan. Tom Duggan attended an appreciation coffee for volunteers April 24 at Marion Senior Center.
Nikki Stenzel and Mark Gilford of Manhattan and Lisa Hanschu and Anna attended a birthday celebration April 24 at the Stika home for Frank Stika and Lori Moldenhauer.
