The Shady Ladies Red Hats celebrated their tenth anniversary with dinner at the Swedish Crown Restaurant in Lindsborg.

Hostess Anita Hummel decorated tables. Members brought memorabilia to exhibit. Dee Duggan showed the red hat and T-shirt that started it all.

Others present were Joyce Cox and Dixie Kracke, Abilene; Ramona Goracke, Chuck Hummel and Betty Schlesener of Hope; Barbara Askew, Alice Bell, Rose Mary Deines, Rhea Kolling, Karolyn Schlesener, and Helen Sorenson, all of Herington; and Ramona Beisel, Adeline Bernhardt, Tom Duggan, and Leona Kleiber. Special guests were Jessica Gilbert and Pat Wick of Ramona, whose bed and breakfast was the site of the group’s first meeting. Dee Duggan was presented with a wrist corsage. Dixie Kracke won the door prize.

Prairie Pals met April 30 in the Lutheran church basement. Laveta Meyer and Lori Meyer served as hostesses. Others present were Mary Clemmer, Iona Dietrich, and Jane Vajnar. The group decorated clipboards.

Glenn Kerbs of Dodge City spent April 29 with his mother, Lucille Kerbs, and was an overnight guest.

Jerry and Jeanne Rziha spent April 27 to 28 with their son and family, Wayne Rziha, Cecilia, Anthony, and Daniel in Tulsa, Okla. Other guests included John and Jeanne Rziha, Thomas, Charlie, Anna, and Henry, Atchison; Jean Brill, Cashion, Okla.; and Darcy Brill of Tulsa. All attended Anthony’s first communion.

Tom and Dee Duggan’s granddaughter, Kaylee Hall of Herington, recently received a I rating in a vocal music competition in Emporia.

Lori Moldenhauer spent April 25 to 28 in Texas with her husband, Tom Moldenhauer.

Dale and Andrea Klenda, Evan, and Silas were hosts for a barbecue supper and birthday party April 27 at their home to celebrate Elijah Klenda’s fifth birthday. Guests included Lynn and Peggy Kleiber of Salina, Nick Kleiber, Concordia; Tim and Amanda Baxa and Sophia, Wichita; Dennis and Terry Klenda, Pilsen; Tyler Klenda, Manhattan; Aron and Darlene Sergeant, Andrew, and Delilah, Emporia; and Leona Kleiber.

Dinner guests of Russ and Julie Kerbs on April 28 were Ashton Smith and Sydney of Pilsen and Lucille Kerbs.

Deb and Kaylee Hall of Herington and Tom and Dee Duggan attended a performance April 26 by the K-State Singers and Dancers at Kansas State University. Cody Lynn, grandson of Verl and Karolyn Schlesener, and Chance Berndt, grandson of Everett and Rhea Kolling, were among the performers.

Irma Benda visited Frank and Anna Mae Stika on April 24 to wish Frank a happy birthday.

The Duggans attended the Durham Senior Citizens meeting April 24.
