Ashton Kerbs and Phyllis Branson were visitors Wednesday of Lucille Kerbs.

Georgia Spohn met Lenora Graham of Florence Monday morning in Hillsboro. They attended a Learning in Retirement program at Tabor College and then enjoyed dinner out in Marion. The program was presented by Loretta Jost and was about her grandparents who ran a school for African-American children in North Carolina in the early 20th century.

A group of women enjoying dinner at a café Tuesday included Tillie Hein, Lorene Kleiber, Leona Kleiber, Beryl Steiner, Dee Duggan, Adeline Bernhardt, Eleanor Herbel, and Shirley Hamm.

Lucille Kerbs and Connie Thompson went to Manhattan Tuesday. They visited Allison Phillips, and the three enjoyed dinner out and shopping.

Leona Kleiber was a Sunday dinner guest of Adeline Bernhardt.

Tom and Dee Duggan attended the annual dinner and meeting Saturday of Agri-Producers.

Sunday dinner guests of Russ and Julie Kerbs and Rustyn were Jesse and Ashton Smith and Sydney and Lucille Kerbs.

Ruby Vinduska, Leona Kleiber, and Daniel and Melissa Stuchlik, Tanner and Allie were Sunday supper guests of Terry and Cindy Vinduska of Marion. The occasion was a belated celebration of Terry’s birthday. Terry showed pictures of his recent trip to the Mediterranean area as a member of the U.S. Grains Council.

Georgia took Gary and Carole Spohn out for dinner Saturday at a café in celebration of Carole’s birthday.

Betty Mueller visited Lucille Kerbs Monday afternoon.

Tom and Dee Duggan attended Kaylee Hall’s basketball game Saturday at Junction City.

Leona Kleiber visited Pearl Belton, Maxine Mueller, and Bonnie Crandall Feb. 25 at Salem Home in Hillsboro.

Jane Vajnar and Lucille Kerbs enjoyed dinner Friday at a café.

Connie Thompson of Abilene and Lucille Kerbs enjoyed dinner out Feb. 25 at Salina.

Leona Kleiber was a recent visitor of Lucille Kerbs.

Margaret Jirak was honored with a surprise party Sunday at her home in celebration of her 86th birthday. Those in attendance were Flo and Bob Rahn of Hillsboro, Leonard and Linda Jirak of Hartford, Ann Collins of Williamsburg, Steve and Vickie Jirak, Jacob and Elias of Ramona, Raschelle Jirak of McPherson, Mike and Glenda Jirak of Stockton, Francis and Mary Jirak, Rita and Jesse Brunner and Nathan, and Ron Jirak. A digital picture frame with family photographs was presented to the honoree as a gift. All enjoyed birthday cake and ice cream.

Leona Kleiber spent Feb. 13-20 with Dean and Becky Roth, Allison, Melody, and Danielle in Augusta. On Saturday, all attended the Butler County 4-H Day at Butler Community College in El Dorado. Danielle received top blues on her solo reading, piano solo, and vocal solo. Allison was awarded a top blue on her mountain dulcimer solo. The three sisters earned a top blue on their small instrumental ensemble. Melody and Allison got alternate top blues on their vocal ensemble. Their club’s choir earned a top blue. The Rouths and Leona enjoyed dinner out Sunday followed by a visit to an antique mall in Andover. Leona, Becky, Danielle, and Allison went to the Butler County spelling bee Feb. 20 at BCC in El Dorado. Danielle was one of 26 contestants participating. After eight rounds, she emerged as the Butler County spelling bee champion. She will advance to the state spelling bee Saturday at Great Bend.

Tampa people attending a supper Sunday evening at Ramona included Edna Mueller, Adeline Bernhardt, Leona Kleiber, Tillie Hein, Tom and Dee Duggan, Pastor Clark and Kathy Davis, and Paul and Edna Backhus.

Frank and Anna Mae Stika accompanied Edna Backhus to a basketball game at Centre Friday evening to watch James Weber play. Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu and Anna also cheered on James.

Lucille Kerbs, Russ and Julie Kerbs and Rustyn, and Jesse Smith and Sydney met Doug and Connie Thompson of Abilene at Hutchinson Sunday for a volleyball tournament. Taylor Thompson was playing on a team coached by her sister, Allison Phillips. Rustyn was an assistant coach.

Joyce Cox of Abilene and Tom and Dee Duggan accompanied Everett and Rhea Kolling Tuesday evening to Solomon to watch a Herington High School basketball game.

Emilio and Janie Aita of Chippewa Falls, Wis., are spending this week with her parents, Jerry and Jeanne Rziha.

Georgia Spohn met Lenora Graham of Florence in Hillsboro Monday morning. They attended a Learning in Retirement program at Tabor College and enjoyed dinner out at Marion. Doug Miller and two of his students presented a slide show and talked about their interterm trip to the Holy Land.

Prairie Pals met Tuesday evening in the church basement with Cindy Bentz and Laveta Meyer as hostesses. Dr. Ken Barnard brought a slide presentation about climate changes. Others in attendance were Ira Lee Barnard, Linda Ihde, Mary Clemmer, Lori Meyer, and Jane Vajnar.

Adeline Bernhardt visited Walt and Iona Dietrich Monday afternoon. Walt seemed to be making a satisfactory recovery from heart surgery.

Many turned out for the FFA appreciation breakfast Saturday morning at the senior center. The theme of gratitude was a two-way street, as people of the community appreciated the students’ efforts in acting as hosts for a very pleasant meal.

Tom and Dee Duggan attended the Tri-County Historical Society’s soup luncheon Sunday.

Adeline Bernhardt accompanied Lucille Kerbs and Russ and Julie Kerbs to a basketball game Friday evening at Centre. Rustyn Kerbs was playing.

Gary and Carole Spohn and Georgia Spohn attended visitation for Velma Stites Sunday evening.

Tom and Dee Duggan attended the FFA breakfast Saturday morning and then went to Junction City to watch their granddaughter, Kaylee Hall, play basketball.

Tillie Hein and Kris Srajer and Grant attended a concert Thursday evening at Centre. Grant played in the band.

Lucille Kerbs and her granddaughter, Ashton Smith, went to Abilene Feb. 18.
