Six gathered Tuesday afternoon for game day at the senior center. Those present were Al and Darlene Sondergard of Ramona, Margaret Jirak, Shirley Zaieman, Jim Clemmer, and Jane Vajnar. Sunflower Senior Citizens will try hard to keep this event going, although attendance lately has been thin. Game day is not only for senior citizens; anyone who likes to play games is welcome. If you are interested, put the fourth Tuesday of each month on the calendar, and join us for some fun.

Daniel and Melissa Stuchlik and Allie were hosts of a birthday party and barbecue supper Sunday evening in honor of Tanner’s fifth birthday. Guests were Monte and Sarah Stuchlik of Lost Springs, Terry and Cindy Vinduska and Ruby Vinduska of Marion, Mike and Candee Thode of Wichita, Ross and Megan Stuchlik, Shane and Jenny Svitak, Daniela, Shania, Payton, and Jonah, and Leona Kleiber. Frances Stuchlik was unable to attend. Tanner enjoyed opening his gifts. A Ford tractor cake, made and decorated by his mother, was served.

Tom and Dee Duggan attended a state convention of National Association of Retired Federal Employees Sunday through Tuesday in Manhattan. The organization raised more than $4,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association at the convention.

Connie Thompson of Abilene and Lucille Kerbs went to Salina Monday for dinner out and shopping.

Tom and Dee Duggan attended the Hillsboro Elementary School spring music program Tuesday evening. Their granddaughter, Kaylee Hall, was one of the students performing.

Georgia Spohn met Lenora Graham and a friend from Florence Tuesday in Marion for lunch out.

Adeline Bernhardt and Leona Kleiber enjoyed dinner out Tuesday in Salina.

Greg Sklenar of Wichita and Valerie Hampton of Hillsboro spent Saturday and Sunday with their mother, Lois Sklenar, to help her celebrate her birthday. Tony Young of Goessel also paid her a birthday visit on Saturday. Lois also received birthday greetings by telephone from her sister in Missouri and several others.

Sunday evening supper guests of Frank and Anna Mae Stika were Nikki Stenzel of Manhattan, Tom and Lori Moldenhauer, and Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu, James and Anna. The occasion was a celebration of Frank’s birthday.

Gary and Carole Spohn spent Tuesday with their son, Ryan Spohn, in Manhattan.

Dale and Andrea Klenda were hosts of a barbecue dinner Sunday in Pilsen in honor of Elijah’s first birthday. Guests were Dennis and Terry Klenda and Tyler of Pilsen, Lynn and Peggy Kleiber and Nicholas and Adrian Everhart of Salina, Tim and Amanda Baxa of Kansas City, Aron and Dalene Sergeant and Andrew of Emporia, and Theresa Klenda and Leona Kleiber. Elijah enjoyed opening his gifts. Teddy bear cakes, made and decorated by his mommy and daddy, were served.

Frank and Anna Mae Stika and Lisa Hanschu and Anna attended project night Friday at Centre. James Weber gave a PowerPoint presentation about basketball.

Tom and Dee Duggan attended the fourth grade science fair Thursday evening in Herington. Their granddaughter, Kaylee Hall, exhibited a project about vacuums and explained it to those attending.

Tom and Lori Moldenhauer enjoyed supper out Friday evening in Herington.

Lucy Young of Wichita and Valerie Hampton of Hillsboro visited Lois Sklenar April 21, for an early celebration of her birthday.

Kathy Kroupa and Tillie Hein visited Martha Melcher April 19, in Herington and then attended a card party at the Catholic parish hall.

Frank and Anna Stika and Lori Moldenhauer met Nikki Stenzel in Manhattan Thursday evening for supper out and shopping.

Dinner guests of Paul and Edna Backhus April 19 were Mike and Jennifer Jay and Cody of Hillsboro, Bev and Tom Reid of Marion, and Jason Backhus, and Brad Backhus. The occasion was a celebration of Cody’s first birthday; dessert was a Mickey Mouse birthday cake. A group of friends also celebrated with Cody April 18, with cake and ice cream at his parents’ home.

Connie Thompson of Abilene and Lucille Kerbs attended a track meet April 17 in McPherson, to watch Taylor Thompson run.

Tom and Dee Duggan recently attended several of Kaylee Hall’s soccer games.
