A number of community residents enjoyed fun night Sunday evening at Tampa Senior Center. The event was sponsored by Tampa Community Association. These game nights are the first Sunday evenings of each month during the winter season.

The next event will be a Christmas party, Dec. 7. Festivities will begin at 6 p.m. with a Christmas parade. Each entry in the parade will receive a coupon for an item at Tampa Café. Parade participants will gather on Roosevelt Street between Third and Fourth at 5:45 p.m. Activities after the parade will include caroling, games, shared snacks, and a visit from Santa Claus who will pass out treats to children.

TCA also will sponsor Christmas lighting displays. People with outdoor Christmas lights may register until Dec. 5 at the café. Those names will be entered in a drawing for a $25 gift certificate.

Tom and Dee Duggan took Deb Hall and Kaylee of Herington to a steak supper Wednesday evening at the community building in Herington. The event was sponsored by St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Jim and Mary Clemmer recently received some interesting news from their nephew, Todd Lowe. He had run in the New York marathon and finished with a time of three hours, 21 minutes, and 36 seconds.

Frank and Anna Mae Stika and Lisa Hanschu attended Centre High School and Centre Junior High School fall concerts Monday evening at Centre. Anna Weber was one of the students performing.

Georgia Spohn met Lenora Graham of Florence Monday in Hillsboro to attend the Learning in Retirement program at Tabor College and enjoyed dinner. The speaker was Bill Kostlevy who related entertaining incidents from U.S. Presidential elections throughout American history.

Edna Mueller, Tillie Hein, and Adeline Bernhardt attended game night Sunday at the senior center.

Reuben and Lucille Kerbs went to Hutchinson Sunday afternoon to tour the Kansas Underground Salt Museum. They enjoyed supper in McPherson on the way home.

Tom and Dee Duggan and their granddaughter, Kaylee Hall of Herington, went to Salina Sunday afternoon for shopping.

Leona Kleiber spent Friday afternoon to Monday afternoon with Dean and Becky Routh, Allison, Melody, and Danielle in Augusta. Aaron and Holly Routh, Easton and Payton of Augusta were Saturday afternoon visitors. On Saturday evening, Leona, Dean, Becky, and the girls attended the Butler County 4-H Achievement Banquet in El Dorado. Melody was county champion in communications. Allison was the county champion in reading and performing arts. Danielle was the junior award champion in reading and performing arts. All three sisters received their silver guard achievement pins. Leona and the Rouths enjoyed dinner Sunday in Wichita.

Greg Sklenar of Wichita spent Saturday evening to Monday morning with his mother, Lois Sklenar. Valerie Hampton of Hillsboro was a Sunday dinner guest.

After church visitors of Reuben and Lucille Kerbs Sunday were Jesse and Ashton Smith and Sydney of Pilsen and Russ and Julie Kerbs and Rustyn.

Tom and Dee Duggan joined Everett and Rhea Kolling of Herington, Joyce Cox, and Rhea’s sister, Rudella, of Abilene, at Great Plains Theater Saturday evening for the production of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town.

Lori Moldenhauer and Nikki were Saturday dinner guests of Frank and Anna Mae Stika.

Andrea Klenda and Elijah of Pilsen visited Leona Kleiber late Thursday afternoon.

Halloween supper guests of Frank and Anna Mae Stika were Lisa Hanschu, James and Anna.

Adeline Bernhardt and Leona Kleiber enjoyed lunch Thursday in Salina.
