Jerry and Jeanne Rziha hosted many New Year’s Eve guests. Wayne Rziha, Cecilia Marie, Anthony and Daniel of Tulsa, Okla., Julie Rziha and John and Jeanne Rziha, Michael, Christopher, Joseph, Timothy, Thomas, Charles, Anna, and Henry of Atchison, Cecilia Rziha and Thomas Weigel of Dallas, Susie Rziha and Diane Herron, Andrew Peter, Maria, John, Michael and Juliet of Chippewa Falls, Wisc. visited the Tampa couple.
Some were in Tampa for Christmas, and some stayed after New Year’s. All except the Herrons attended the Golden Wedding of Jerry’s sister and husband, Marvin and Bernice Kaiser, Sunday in Hays.
Rustyn Kerbs of Hillsboro and Lucille Kerbs enjoyed breakfast out Jan. 3.
Don Clemmer of Salina took his mother, Mary Clemmer, of Emporia to lunch on Dec. 29. They were joined by Mary’s sister, Jo Anne Fowler, and visited another sister, Adeline Wood and her son Bill at Holiday Resort. Another resident at the care home, Hazel Lewis Moore, went to grade school with Mary, and she was welcomed into the visitation room. Although Moore was unable to talk due to stroke, she communicated through smiles and gestures.
Clemmer remembered visiting her parents’ home in her grade school years. The home was used in the mid-1800s to hide runaway slaves and still stands. The Clemmers visited with Jann Jaggard on the phone while they were in Emporia.
Tom and Dee Duggan attended card parties in Herington New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
New Year’s guests of Frank and Anna Mae Stika, for carry-in dinner were Lori Moldenhauer and Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu and Anna.
Glenn Kerbs of Dodge City was a Dec. 31 overnight guest of his mother, Lucille Kerbs. Joining them Dec. 31 for a family post-Christmas dinner were Reuben and Cristy Kerbs, Charlotte and RJ of Wichita, Clayton and Leah Kerbs of Topeka, Tim and Marchelle Kerbs, Molly Kerbs and Raymond Deiser of Salina, Mark and April Reidy and Josh of Manhattan, Doug and Connie Thompson and Taylor, Jeremy and Allison Sluder and Keil Kelly of Abilene, Rustyn Kerbs of Hillsboro, Jesse and Ashton Smith and Sydney Smith of Pilsen and Russ and Julie Kerbs.
Tom and Dee Duggan were New Year’s Eve dinner guests of Rhea and Everett Kolling of Hering.
Mary Clemmer’s granddaughter, Dahn Walker, called from Singapore to wish Mary and Ron Clemmer a merry Chirstmas. They talked for more than hour. Her pilot husband, Chris, flew his employer to New York for Christmas and New Year’s.
Kaylee Hall of Herington was a Dec. 29 overnight guest of her grandparents, Tom and Dee Duggan.
Jane Vajnar was a Dec. 30 overnight guest of Marc and Wendy Stroede of Kanopolis. She was also a guest of Margaret Gourley for supper in Ellsworth.
